Let’s have some fun while we wait for the high school football season to kick off at the Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic from August 13-August 16.
The event began in 1992 and has been a stalwart of the state’s high school football season since that time. It’s grown exponentially over the years from its humble beginnings as a one-day event. Now, it’s a four-day marathon which culminates into a stellar schedule at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on the Saturday of Week 1 of the high school football season.
And – off the football field– the times, people and pop culture have changed even more than the event. For perspective, let’s look at the top few songs from each year of the Corky Kell’s existence beginning in 1992 according to the Billboard Year-End 100 Singles.
