Paulding County’s 4-star offensive lineman Tyreek Jemison will take his talents to the SEC and suit up for the Kentucky Wildcats. He chose the Wildcats over Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, and NC State. His relationship with offensive line coach Eric Wolford was a big determining factor in why he chose the Wildcats.
“The opportunity to play early is what stood out for me for the Wildcats, and then the passion Coach Wolf has for the game of football,” said Jemison.
Jemison’s final official visit saw him travel to Lexington, where they rolled the red carpet out for him. Jemison saw his recruiting blow up in the winter and early spring window after a standout performance in the Georgia Elite Classic. Jemison saw well over 45 offers come in from major D1 programs, all intrigued by his talent. His ranking also skyrocketed, and Rivals gave him a four-star ranking. Rivals also rated him as the No. 22 OL and the No. 39 player in the state.
He continued to work on his body and shed pounds, down from 330 pounds to a lean 310 pounds. He became a fixture in the weight room and grinded all spring and summer, even doing two workouts a day to get to where he wanted his body to be.
“I am going to work on my strength, my pad level, and my hand placement this offseason. Obviously, I can get better at everything, but as far as what I really need to work on is my strength. I will be doing two workouts every day. Saturdays and Sundays will be fieldwork,” he said.
On film, he is offensive lineman who is aggressive at the point of attack and has great hands and footwork. In pass protection, he can play an anchor position, and is someone who has the agility and power to shut down opposing defensive linemen. In the running game, he moves quickly and gets to the second level, opening up gaping holes for the running back to take advantage of. He seems made for SEC football, especially with his 6-foot-5, 310-pound frame. He possesses all the skills to be an All-SEC caliber player and a force at the next level.
Kentucky got one of the best lineman in the country and a hard-working kid who will make a difference on and off the field.
