Four girls soccer players break the 40-goal mark

With the end of the 2025 soccer season, the stat leaders are officially set. While some of the top players will continue their seasons into the playoffs, others have wrapped up the year with historic numbers. According to MaxPreps, four girls across the state hit the 40-goal mark this season.

Hebron Christian’s Kaitlyn Green finishes as the fourth-leading scorer. The Lions had a historic, undefeated season, and Green played a huge part in that success. She scored 42 goals, 24 more than the next highest scorer on her team. As just a freshman, Green has proven to be a vital piece of Hebron’s lineup and is expected to continue developing into one of the state’s elite players.

Kamryn Simmons of Harlem was the next to reach the milestone, netting 46 goals on the season. The junior standout has been the driving force behind Harlem’s impressive 16-1 record. Simmons scored three or more goals in nine games, including six combined goals across two key matchups with Aquinas, games Harlem likely wouldn’t have won without her contributions.

The second-leading scorer in the state is Alana Ferguson of Social Circle. Ferguson has had a breakout year, scoring 51 goals, a massive leap from her total last season. Following Social Circle’s state runner-up finish in 2024, Ferguson elevated her game, scoring 32 more goals than the year prior. She recorded three or more goals in 11 games, and five or more in four of those, establishing herself as one of Georgia’s top attacking threats.

Sitting at the top is Zulma Valdivieso-Gutierrez of Cedar Shoals, the state’s leading scorer with 58 goals, an average of more than 3.4 goals per game. Despite Cedar Shoals missing the playoffs, Valdivieso-Gutierrez was the heart of the offense. She scored at least half of her team’s goals in every game, and in six games, she scored every single goal. In Cedar Shoals’ nine wins, she was responsible for 46 of the team’s 58 goals. Without her goals the team only had enough goals to win three games.
