Jaden Upshaw is next line as a top receiver to come through the state of Georgia, and he is beginning to make a name for himself. When you watch Upshaw, you can’t help but be impressed with his physical stature at 6’2 and 190 pounds. Upshaw has an impressive catch radius and is tough to bring down in the open field. He finished his sophomore campaign with 62 catches for 840 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Despite the Trojans being predominantly a run team led by Mr. Georgia Ousmane Kromah and Georgia Southern commit Weston Bryan, Upshaw still put on a show and dominated when he got the ball. One of those games where he couldn’t be stopped was against Tify County. Upshaw finished with seven catches for 187 yards and two touchdowns. In 2024, Upshaw had four multi-touchdown games.
Upshaw has continued the trend in the summer, putting on a show in several events, including the Georgia Tech 7 on 7. There was a play captured by Rivals Jed May where she did an outward-breaking release to create separation from the defender. Upshaw was being held and could only get one hand up, but effortlessly made the grab, showing physicality, and only having one arm wouldn’t deter him.

He has also turned heads at the UGA 7 on 7 and the Florida State 7 on 7 this summer. Upshaw has seen the offers continue to roll in from notable colleges like South Carolina, Georgia, Maryland, Louisville, and Miami all this summer. The recruiting services have also taken notice of his exceptional talent. Upshaw is rated as a four-star prospect on every recruiting platform. His highest ranking comes from 247Sports, where he is ranked as the No. 13 player in Georgia, the No. 16 WR, and the No. 105 nationally. Upshaw already has more than 20 offers.
With another big season in 2025, it won’t be long until he is one of the best receivers in the country and potentially the best when the rankings update next spring. Upshaw possesses all the physical traits and intangibles to be one of the best. He will be one of the top playmakers to watch for the Lee County Trojans in the fall, especially if they want to reach their goal of hoisting a state championship.
